This past Tuesday the nation’s capitol was infiltrated by domestic terrorists egged on by the belief that Donald Trump had really won the 202 election (he didn’t). These Trump loyalists broke down doors, injured and murdered police officers, and looted offices of congress members. They chanted “Hang (Vice President) Mike Pence, they demanded the head of Nancy Pelosi, carried weapons and zip-tie handcuffs, and even took to pooping and peeing in the halls, which I’m sure is a sign of sophistication and intelligence.
As these terrorist terrorized, everyone looked to President Donald Trump to do something, anything, to help alleviate the situation. Instead he found delight in the carnage and was confused as to why other weren’t. He was given the option of calling in the National Guard to help the situation, but initially refused, instead calling a senator to beg him to keep delaying the certification of his loss.
Finally he put out a video to address the situation, but instead of absolutely decrying the attack, he told them they were special and that he loved them.
Imagine for a second, that after the attack on 9/11, if George W. Bush had stood atop the rubble of the twin towers and instead of promising to go after those responsible, he professed his love for Osama Bin Laden. It’s insane, but what’s even more insane is that 150+ members of congress and the senate still voted against certifying the results in two states, continuing the lies that led to the riot in the first place. They knew it was all a lie that put their own and other’s lives at risks, but they continued it anyway.
The next day on a Republican conference call, they applauded Trump. The GOP applauded the guy who was delighted by a terrorist attack and the murder of police officers. This is the way it is. Republicans are claim to be the party of law and order, of “backing the blue.” Instead they now support cop killers and terrorists.
The sad truth is this party will probably still continue to get between 45% and 50% of the vote in each election but we are a nation of hypocrites… and apparently terrorist lovers.
